Boo-urns!
Harry Shearer Leaves The Simpsons

Harry Shearer, who voices Montgomery Burns, Seymour Skinner, Otto, Ned Flanders and several other characters on The Simpsons, announced on Twitter that he will no longer be lending his chameleonesque vocals to the show.

I have to admit, I haven't watched The Simpsons regularly in many years, only catching the odd episode here and there. For me the great show The Simpsons once was ended over 15 years ago; outlandish plots, celebrity guest stars and wacky toon antics replacing the clever, endlessly quotable scripts and groundbreaking observational comedy that was much sharper than any live action sitcom on air at the time.

Sadly, the show that once was The Simpsons will go on without the man who voiced many of the fans' favourite characters for 25yrs. The show has already been renewed for Season 27 and 28.

Shearer has indicated he's departing the show to pursue other work, but no doubt the much publicized contract disputes between the voice cast and the network had a lot to do with it.

What do you guys think? Can The Simpsons go on without the original voice cast? Should it have even gone on this long? Sound off in the talkbacks below.
