Ryan Gosling Cast In Blade Runner 2
I know, in a day that saw the new Star Wars trailer drop it's hard to get excited over any news about a movie that isn't set in a galaxy far, far away, but this is pretty cool news nonetheless.
Ryan Gosling is in final negotations to star in the Blade Runner sequel. Harrison Ford will be returning, however original director Ridley Scott will be replaced by Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners, the upcoming Sicario).
No word on what character Gosling might be playing, but odds are he will either play the lead, with Ford's Deckard taking on a supporting role, or a Replicant antagonist, if indeed the Replicants are the villains this time around. I'd hate to see Deckard reduced to a supporting role, so I'm hoping for the later, and based purely on the image I cooked up below I think Gosling would make an excellent Roy Batty 2.0...
