SOCK! POW! ZOK! Adam West To Don The Cowl Once More For 60's Batman Animated Feature!

Holy smokes! Adam West and Burt Ward were at the Mad Monster Party convention in Charlette, North Carolina where Ward announced that the two actors were working on a new animated feature to celebrate the show's 50th anniversary.

People have long been complaining that DC's cinematic output have been too dark and take themselves far too seriously, so this should come as welcome news. To get an idea of what a 60's Batman animated movie might look like, take a look at the original title sequence below...

13thDimension.com is also reporting that Julie Newmar will be returning to lend her voice to Catwoman. Newmar became a sex symbol when she embodied the iconic villian in the first two seasons of the camp tv show before being replaced by Eartha Kitt in season 3.

I kind of wish they'd go ahead and make another live action movie so we'd get to see Adam West don the blue, eyebrow stenciled cowl once more. The Dark Knight Returns with shark repelent, who doesn't want to see that? But I guess hearing him voice the character in youthful animated form is the next best thing.

I don't know about you, but this has skipped past Age of Ultron, Star Wars, Batman vs Superman on my "can't wait to see" list. What do you guys think?

A release date has yet to be announced.
