Film Adaptation Of Naughty Dog's Acclaimed The Last Of Us On The Way

Naughty Dog's creative director Neil Druckman will be writing the script for a film adaptation of the acclaimed post apocolyptic videogame, Deadline are reporting. Naughty Dog will be partnering up with Screen Gems and Sam Raimi's Ghost House pictures to bring the epic story of Joel and Ellie to the big screen.

The Last Of Us recently won 5 Bafta game awards, including overall Game Of The Year. I haven't played it, but from what I hear the story is outstanding, and probably the greatest videogame narrative of all time.

There has been an attempt to get a film adaptation of Naughty Dog's brilliant Uncharted series off the ground for years now (if you haven't played it, think classic Indiana Jones, before the series nuked the fridge) but it's been ages since we heard anything new on that front.

What do you guys think? Are you dreading yet another sucky videogame adaptation, or does the involvement of the creative team behind Naughty Dog's original masterpiece make you think this may be the first worthy videogame adaptation?
